CONSCIOUS Premieres at CPH:DOX

18 Feb 2026

Today the full programme for CPH:DOX 2026 was unveiled, and we are overjoyed to share that CONSCIOUS, directed by Suki Chan, will celebrate its World Premiere at this year’s festival.

To see the film featured among such an extraordinary selection of international documentary work is a moment of great pride for our entire team.

In her debut feature, Suki Chan crafts a sensorial and intimate journey into the human mind. Told through the perspectives of Wendy Mitchell, Pegeen O’Sullivan, Maureen Winfield, and neuroscientist Anil Seth, the film gently navigates personal stories of growth, reconciliation, and resilience while living with dementia in profoundly different ways. Together, they illuminate unexpected beauty in a space where grief and fragility often reside — inviting us to reconsider how we understand consciousness itself.

A co-production between Conscious Productions Studio and Aconite, the film’s premiere marks a significant milestone in its life. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of the team involved and our funders — Screen Scotland, Sundance Film InstituteBFI/Doc Society. We are profoundly grateful to you and to the entire community that has carried this project forward.

If you find yourself in Copenhagen, we would be honoured to welcome you to the World Premiere on Saturday, March 14th at 18:30 at Nørrebro Teater. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Suki Chan and Anil Seth.
