In this film, recovered heroin addict and film director, Garry Fraser, embarks on a painful, soul-searching journey to confront the demons of his past. Garry grew up in the 80s in a world of neglect, abuse and poverty in one of the poorest places in Britain, Muirhouse, Edinburgh – the place that inspired the acclaimed film ‘Trainspotting’. Garry flitted between foster homes and care facilities until he turned 16 and spent much of his adult life as a drug dealer. However, he found a way to turn his life around through filmmaking.
This extraordinary and well-crafted story is not to be missed at this year’s Doc/fest.

Also, do not miss our industry session the same day, 13th of June, 2pm at The Chapel, where the makers of Everybody’s Child are joined by a panel of TV commissioners to debate on the meaning of creative diversity for the small screen.
