Everybody’s Child at the Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival!

09 Apr 2014

We are delighted to announce that our documentary feature Everybody’s Child will be screened at the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival this October.

The film is directed by and follows Garry Fraser as he takes us on a journey to face demons from his past.

Garry’s story explores the history of his own life and his community of Muirhouse, Edinburgh. The community was ripped apart by the AIDS epidemic of the 1980’s.

His story of growing up in a poor community, struggling with addiction and his personal challenges with drug use and mental health problems on his journey into filmmaking as a way out.

The Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival supports the arts and challenges preconceived ideas about mental health.

The festival takes place in venues across Scotland from 1st – 19th October 2014, featuring film, music, visual art, theatre, dance, and literature.

Everybody’s Child will screen as part of the festival on Monday 13 October, 6pm at Edinburgh Filmhouse.

Everybody’s Child was made thanks to finance from Creative Scotland and BBC Scotland.
