We’re back - and The MAD World of Harvey Kurtzman premieres this Sunday!
Dear friend,
We hope you’re enjoying the rest of the summer.
Here at Aconite, we’re back after our summer break and looking forward to the premiere of The Mad World of Harvey Kurtzman, this Sunday, 16 August at 3pm at Filmhouse as part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Ahead of the screening, we’re delighted to share our poster, beautifully created by the award-winning Canadian artist John Godfrey.
This documentary feature, directed by Bart Simpson and executive produced by Terry Gilliam, is an official selection competing for the £50,000 Sean Connery Prize for Feature Filmmaking Excellence at the 79th Edinburgh International Film Festival.
The film is a co-production between Intuitive Pictures in Canada and Aconite Productions in Scotland, bringing together creative talent from both countries in what has been a wonderful international collaboration.
We’re particularly proud of the contribution from our Scotland-based team: the animation by The 2D Workshop, the score by composer Marty Hailey of Metro 13 Music, the sound mix by Adam Wood and the team at Serious Facilities, and the editing support of award-winning editor Colin Monie.
A huge thank you goes out to our financing partners at Telefilm Canada, Screen Scotland and the UK Global Screen Fund for helping make the film possible.
If you happen to be in Edinburgh this weekend - easily one of the most exciting cities in the world during festival season - we’d love you to join us for the screening.
We hope to see you there!
Warmly,
Aconite Team
